T shirt Tuesday #16: Cassette Taps

It is Tuesday. I am wearing an awesome t shirt. as usual. This one is a hommage to the cassette, which brought me depeche mode at a very young age.

As the day progresses I have more and more tiny colorful sponge animals.

T Shirt Tuesday #15: Strangers Have Better Candy

But only perfect strangers. That show was an awesome show. I used to watch it all of the time and I am not ashamed. Neither is Irene who is modeling this awesome t shirt she recently got.

Today is my birthday. I walked in this morning excited about the bagel I was about to indulge in and there were Irene and Vivienne, with birthday fountains and tiaras with my picture on it! Obviously way better than my bagel.

And then we were talking for a bit, I noticed something on my bench. Those rascals were full of surprises!

And inside those little tubes were tiny little capsules that took me back to my youth. THE POP OUT SPONGE ANIMALS. HOLY CRAP. OMG. Here are just a few of them, the kangaroo and the elusive rhino. Awesome. I am going to unveil the rest during the day.

T Shirt Tuesday #14: Comaparative Diagram: Size

I am wearing this T shirt, I just cropped the rest of myself out of it. I personally like the whale being held up by a helicopter. You can see it if you squint.

Dollar Bill Love Letter

My Dearest Jessica! I love you with all my heart! I know I can't take you away from your problems, but I will always be there for you! love always, Steven

I scoffed when I saw this graffiti on my dollar bill this morning because:
1. Way girly handwriting
2. Way too many exclamation points.
3. Did he run out of stationary? a notecard? a sheet of paper?
4. Was a dollar necessary? Maybe she is a stripper and he wanted her to have a special note.

T Shirt Tuesday #13: Election Day Edition: Civic Duty Dance

I voted today. I filled in tiny bubbles and I got my sticker (that is what I am pointing to). I decided to wear a t shirt with a government theme, this one is called Civic Duty Dance. It showcases some pretty impressive dance moves by some of our forefathers.  If you haven't already, please brave the lines and vote. It is pretty important and pretty awesome.

Snail sex

that's right. I am a popple. My costume is like wearing a fleece sleeping bag. I had to take it off to do work, but I will be sporting it a lot later. It is so warm I may make it my home lounging wear.

update: two popples are twice the cuteness.

Chemistry of candles

I don't usually have science types of things on here, but my friend tanner showed this to me and I thought it was fitting for the season. The last part of the video is really cool, so hold on.

Mustache Monday

Schuyler has done it. He has made the transition from beard to mustache. He will be sporting this facial accessory while running the NYC marathon. He does it for OBAMA and for himself.

Schuyler also likes to practice being a redneck with his stache. I think he does a pretty good job.

More Cat

She is a rascal. Always getting into cute poses.

Friday, October 17, 2008

I have a new kitty.

Her name is Lilly, lil for short. I got her on wednesday night and she is starting to get used to the house and to me. She follows me around because she thinks I am her mom, which is cute but unrealistic.  Come on lilly. Oliver is hissing like crazy every time he sees her, but I am hoping this will stop sooner rather than later.

I like to steal.

I do, I admit it. Well, nothing like a car or anything, but pint glasses and what not. Sometimes I like souvenirs. No judging. I don't want to hear it! We went out to The shish kebab house of afghanistan last night for drinks with my friend Michelle. Apparently we totally ignored the sign that said private party when we walked into the bar. We batted our eyes and were allowed to stay, but the restaurant above was reserved for a wedding. While everyone was upstairs I casually decided to share in their joy by putting a wedding favor in my sweatshirt! I told the bartenders that I had an abdominal hernia and they should try to be more sensitive.

We ran out of the restaurant. Here they are posing for me with my ill gotten gains
we then opened the box.

BROWNIES. Homemade, full of love and different flavors.

we taste tested. My personal favorite was the Chipotle. It had a nice little kick, but not too much and the brownie was a good consistency. The worst one was the mint, which was way too cakey.
me with my bootie.

T Shirt Tuesday #11: ROAR and Eating Healthy

ok. I lied. I forgot I told vivienne to wear her new WOOT shirt, so we did a joint pic, me with my eating healthy t shirt and with her ROAR.
we are roaring. It was intense.

no t shirt today

I will pick up next week. I promise.

my life is empty.

How can i have my afternoon snack from the Uconn co-op if there are none left! restock people! I took the box in fit of rage. I have since calmed down and perhaps will begin to construct a shrine to the toblerone, my one true love.

T Shirt Tuesday #10: Shoot them in the brains

Leslie Hall. Zombie Killer. We went right to the internet after her show and bought these t shirts. I like to wear this T shirt at school in its full glory so people can stare at me and wonder what might be wrong with me.

What do you think of my new BUTTONS?

The one on the far left isn't for me as I do not have a mustache (sorry if I ruined the surprise Schuyler). I love the one in the middle, for Obama... or whatever. HA. You can't fully appreciate them due to the glare, but they are awesome. Thank you VIVIENNE! you are the coolest. Thanks also to mike d. for showing us the site with every imaginable lover of Obama.

I am here, but the books seem to be missing.

How am I supposed to LEARN anything?

T Shirt Tuesday #9: british bulldogs

I got this shirt before I thought graphic tees were cool and before I thought that putting them underneath cardigans was even cooler.

Monday, September 22, 2008

I have started to spice up my apartment a bit, starting with the room that will soon become my bedroom. Mike D. was helping and got a little carried away with real life grafitti.
someone retaliated during the addition of the last color. I have no idea who it was.

craft 3: tissues for irene.

This is another tissue holder I made recently, this time for Irene. She has a butterfly tattoo, so I thought she might like this. Good thing I didn't put an ant on here, or she wouldn't have accepted it! I think this one turned out really nicely. I took a little more time with it, especially making the grass line up. Now I just have to figure out what to make for mike d. I need suggestions. I told him if he doesn't give me anything to work with I will make him a tampon case. He didn't like that idea very much.

Craft 2: ipod case

Schuyler now has an ipod case with dinosaurs. That is what he wanted, I didn't choose it. I also didn't look at pictures, so I don't want to hear anything about how crappy my dinos are. Give me a break! I like the leaves, and I have discovered Ss are really hard to cut out of felt.

T Shirt Tuesday #8: there is an elephant on here somewhere

you just have to look closely. I turned to the side so the trunk with the tusks would be facing you. This was a gift from my friend Kate from Uniqlo in NYC. It is essentially a japanese H&M. They sell cashmere there for $60, so obviously it is an awesome store.

I make crafts.

I have gotten a book outlining cute things I can make, I believe it is titled: how to make cute stuff. I have been trying my hardest to accomplish that task using felt. In the photo above I showcase a tissue holder which has a train on it and my initials. I also made one for joanna that has birds and one for vivienne with a mouse and cheese. I will continue my crafting spree, if I know and like you, perhaps you will get one.

T shirt Tuesday #7: Cute with Chris

I like to read blogs. I like to waste time. I have been reading cute with chris for about 8 months now. He is great at pairing snarky comments with cute kittens. He also makes fun of moobs and crazy cat ladies (just to name a few things) on his weekly video
blog. You should check it out if you are a sucker for cute things, but you are also very cynical. Chris was selling t shirts, so obviously I got one. I got schuyler one of these t shirts too, mostly so we could get the free pen. We are going to do a family photo with oliver so we can send it in to the blog. Cross your fingers that we make it on.

T Shirt Tuesday #6: friday is the new tuesday

OK. I am sorry this is late. I was really busy this week, seriously! I am trying to make up for it now with the shots I had taken on tuesday, but hadn't had time to upload onto the computer, mostly because I kept forgetting to bring my phone in. These shots are from driving home from the climbing gym. This one was the first woot shirt I had ever purchased, entitled Organic Light beam.

I got my new HUGE tv yesterday. It is a 32" wide screen HDTV, LCD, Flat screen, etc TV. It is my first real tv purchase and I am proud of my wheeling and dealing skillz. Anyone who comes over can now watch PBS in HD, DVDs in HD and play Wii on the big screen. get excited.

my friends like to color.

We began coloring extensively in Maine. The finished products were sent out across the continental united states. I was the happy recipient of this coloring book page this morning. I especially like the stripe detailing. Thank you.

Survey says....

OK. Maybe you know that I am having a fry party. I know they have them all of the time in the Midwest, where things are fried and melted cheese is poured on top. They unfortunately frown upon that sort of behavior here. That doesn't mean I am not going to do it, but I need midwest advice:

1. What are fun things to fry that I haven't thought about?

2. What are good beer pairings?

T Shirt Tuesday #5: The Butterfly Effect

All of us at the Schuster/ Frey household liked this design, but the boys thought it was too girly for them, so obviously I bought it for myself. I like butterflies, and you can tell from the bronx zoo post, that I am descended from the champion chewer caterpillar. Thus, it is only fitting that I own this tee shirt.

In the Bronx, there is wildlife.

This past weekend I went to the Bronx zoo. It was a visit intended to see my brother, Tom, and have him meet schuyler. Well, meeting schuyler didn't really work, because he had to work. But, I did get to briefly see Tom, as did schuyler's mom (Amy) and his brother (Gabe). The zoo was crazy expensive, but it was huge, so I think fairly worth it. Gabe brought his camera, so I thought I would include some of his awesome photos.

This monkey had sad eyes. I have no idea what type of monkey it is, so don't ask me. I liked him, that is really all that is important here.

These flamingos really aren't very pink. I was enraged and asked for my money back, but they laughed at me.

We saw these deer type things while we were on the "bengali monorail express". I liked the monorail, it allowed for less people and more room for the animals. It was a fun ride, but I usually had no idea where the conductor was pointing.

This was taken outside of the butterfly house and is a very accurate description of me.
